A jack-of-all-trade and a master of none- I have been a perfect example of this. I am innately passionate about so many things but I never had the chance or probably the ability to perfect any of these crafts. I am a mediocre performer, and a trying-hard writer. I was never as good as those I know who excelled in their field of choice; I have never been any better. But as luck favors my existence, and as if a guardian angel always whispers at opportunities to come to me, I always find chances to achieve the things I am desirous about in life. My secret? Determination! The moment I realized that the world is a vast place of opportunities and possibilities, I have taught myself to be resolute about reaching my dreams, no matter what it takes. And though, the world is so blessed with many outstanding and capable people who I cannot equal, I never lose hopes to be better than the average me and I have never felt inferior in any way over those with superior abilities.
And because of this attitude, I have one day found a good opportunity to earn and to learn. I was scouring the internet for a part-time job when I came across an advertisement of Essays. Ph. Without further reading the qualifications needed for any applicant to pass I did submit my curriculum vitae without expecting anything. As usual, I had the “there is no harm in trying” belief swirling in my head. To my surprise my sample essays passed the scrutiny of the editors. I landed in the Gray team of the company and after several weeks I visited my profile and found out I was already in the Red team. Being in the Red team means you can start getting assignments and get paid. You could not imagine my excitement at that moment. Freelance writing is something I have never tried in my life before, and though I know I can express myself in words, to call myself a writer would be a grievous sin. Nevertheless, I have the guts to get my first ever assignment, and then another, and still another. I was always waiting for a text message or a PM from Sir Neil, anxious that my articles would be sent back for total revisions. But that never happened. After weeks of taking an active part in the whole process, I found my status changed into “Super Active Writer”.
I am quite sure that my status as a Super Active Writer at Essays.ph is the highest status that I could attain in the company. Well, it’s not that I am not dreaming to join the Blue Team but I know that would only happen after I cry bloody tears in my eyes or probably after walking with bended knees at the aisle of Baclaran Church while begging for the Holy Spirit to come down to me, and perform a miracle to make me a superb writer. With almost a year of becoming a member of the EPH team, I have experienced receiving requests for revisions because of run-on sentences and grammatical errors with which I humbly comply. With my stay as a freelance “struggling writer” at Eph, I met genuine, excellent writers who are passionate about their crafts, and who are willing to go an extra mile to share their expertise to a learner like me. Being at Eph is like working in an environment where everyone is willing to help you achieve your goals because your goal is the same as anyone’s goal. It is a working place where no one tries to outshine you or pull you down. And it is for this very reason that I chose to continue learning how to become a writer and how to become a better one. With my earnings at Eph I was able to help pay my brother’s tuition fee, treat a friend, and buy a new bag and preggy clothes at SM Department Store. And how could I not thank Eph? It is because of this company that my principal and I found a similar interest to talk about. After sharing my experience with Eph, he joined the team and since then we started talking about the forums, the assignments, the money and a lot more about Eph. As a teacher I used to dread talking with my superior. (lol)! It is through our talks about Eph that I realized he isn’t the tiger I imagined him to be. (Peace, Sir) Well, I hope he won’t read this; I am keeping my fingers crossed. Oh, I can’t help but laugh…
Becoming a writer at Eph is the most rewarding and challenging experience I ever had. Through Eph I was able to challenge my mediocre ability by trying to produce better articles in every assignment I take. I learned to criticize my work and aim for excellence. Through Eph I continuously learn and earn and that is by far the greatest adventure I can brag about to anyone who will read this.
